Imabari Towels are a symbol of Japanese quality, produced in Imabari, Ehime—a region with over 120 years of towel-making history.
Every authentic towel is identified by the official red, white, and blue tag, which includes a unique certification ID number. To earn this tag, towels must pass a rigorous 12-point inspection measuring softness, durability, and colorfastness.
The most famous of these is the "5-second rule," which requires a towel to sink within five seconds in water to ensure high absorbency.
