Imabari Towels are produced in Imabari, Ehime—one of Japan’s leading towel-making regions, with more than a century of craftsmanship behind it.
Products carrying the official red, white, and blue Imabari Towel brand mark have passed quality standards established by the Imabari Towel Industrial Association. These standards cover absorbency, shedding, colorfastness, strength, and more.
The best-known standard is the “five-second rule,” which tests whether a towel sample begins to sink within five seconds of being placed on water—an indication of excellent absorbency.
Yes. We ship directly from our shop in Ehime, Japan, to many countries worldwide.
Orders to the United States are shipped by Japan Post EMS using a duty-prepaid service. For other destinations, we generally use Japan Post EMS or Yamato International, depending on service availability.
Due to our existing distribution arrangements, we are currently unable to ship directly to Hong Kong or Taiwan. Available destinations will be shown at checkout.
In-stock items are normally prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days.
International delivery generally takes approximately 4–10 business days after dispatch. Customs inspections, local delivery conditions, weather, or carrier disruptions may cause delays.
For orders shipped to the United States, applicable import duties and related charges are calculated and collected at checkout. Your order is then shipped using a duty-prepaid service, so you should not normally be asked to pay the same duties again upon delivery.
For other international destinations, import duties, VAT, customs clearance charges, or similar fees may apply unless checkout specifically states otherwise. These charges are determined by the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient.
Please see our International Shipping Guide for more information.
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on your destination and the estimated packed weight of your order.
You can view the shipping charge after entering your delivery address. IORI does not add a separate handling surcharge to the shipping fee shown at checkout.
