Refund policy

At IORI, our products are thoughtfully crafted and shipped directly from our shop in Ehime, Japan. Please review our policy carefully before placing your order.

1. International Duties & Taxes

International packages are potentially subject to import duties, VAT, or local customs fees, depending on the destination country.

  • Customer Responsibility: These charges are determined by your local government and are not included in your IORI checkout total. They must be paid by the recipient to the courier before delivery.

  • Refusal to Pay: If a package is refused due to unpaid duties, it will be treated as an Unclaimed Shipment (see Section 2).

2. Refused, Unclaimed, or Unsuccessful Deliveries

If a shipment is returned to Japan for any of the following reasons, a Net Refund will be issued once the item arrives back at our shop:

  • The recipient refused to accept the package or pay import duties.

  • The recipient was unavailable for multiple delivery attempts.

  • The package was unclaimed at the local post office/courier depot.

  • An incorrect address was provided at checkout.

To cover the non-recoverable costs incurred by IORI, the following will be deducted from your total refund:

  1. Original Shipping Fee: The actual cost we paid to send the item.

  2. Return Shipping Fee: The cost charged by the carrier to return the package to Japan.

  3. Transaction Fees: To cover non-refundable payment processing and currency conversion fees.

The Net Refund Calculation: Refund Amount = Product Price - (Original Shipping + Return Shipping + Transaction Fees)

3. Standard Returns (Change of Mind)

If you receive your order and wish to return it for other reasons:

  • Eligibility: Items must be returned unused, unwashed, and in original packaging within 14 days of delivery.

  • Process: Please contact us via our [Contact Form] to receive approval and return instructions.

  • Costs: The customer is responsible for all return shipping fees. We recommend a tracked service, as IORI is not responsible for lost return shipments.

  • Refund: Once inspected, we will issue a refund minus the Original Shipping Fee and Transaction Fees.

4. Final Sale Items

The following cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Sale/Clearance items

  • Customized or personalized products

  • Gift wrapping services and Gift Cards

5. Refund Timeline

Once your return is inspected at our shop in Ehime, we will process your refund within 3–5 business days. Funds will be returned to your original payment method.
